My group and I absolutely loved the home and enjoyed every amenity ! Would highly recommend staying here when visiting Yucca Valley ! :)

Crazy Heart Ranch arrives the way the best desert properties do: gradually, then all at once. The road narrows, the landscape stretches, and what emerges is a sun-washed compound set against the kind of open terrain that makes everything else feel far away. This is a private residence in the Sunny Sands area near Joshua Tree, designed for guests who want space, silence, and the particular quality of light that only the high desert delivers. The architecture is low-slung and warm, with clean lines that sit comfortably against the arid ground rather than competing with the horizon.
The property offers a fully equipped home with comfortable living spaces that open naturally to the outdoors. The kitchen is set up for real cooking, the kind of place where mornings begin slowly with coffee and a view that extends in every direction. Bedrooms are arranged for privacy and rest, with windows framing the desert in a way that makes sunrise and sunset feel like events worth planning around. Outside, the landscape becomes part of the living space. There is room to spread out, to gather around a fire as the sky darkens, to sit in stillness and let the quiet do what it does best.
The surrounding area is defined by the rugged beauty of the Southern California desert. Joshua Tree National Park is within easy reach, offering trails, rock formations, and the kind of vast natural scenery that rewards both serious hikers and casual explorers. The small creative communities nearby bring unexpected energy to the region, with local shops, galleries, and restaurants that reflect a culture shaped equally by artists and the land itself. Back at the ranch, the contrast between these outings and the property's deep calm becomes one of its most appealing rhythms.
Crazy Heart Ranch is not a resort and does not try to be one. It is a private home with generous proportions and a setting that does most of the work. The desert here is not a backdrop. It is the main character. What stays with you is the scale of the sky, the warmth of the house against cool desert evenings, and the rare, restorative feeling of being somewhere that asks absolutely nothing of you.

Five acres of fenced desert with nobody watching — that's the energy here. Crazy Heart Ranch doesn't perform the high-desert aesthetic so much as inhabit it, with cowboy tubs and an outdoor bed that feel less like curated touches and more like someone's deeply personal vision of how to live out here. It's a property built around the sky, really — the kind of place where nightfall isn't something that happens to you passively but something you arrange yourself around, fire pit lit, hot tub warm, the Milky Way doing its work overhead. The proximity to Pappy & Harriet's and the Integratron grounds it in the strange, wonderful culture of this particular stretch of California, but the ranch itself is the destination. It stays with you because it's quiet without being empty.

Crazy Horse Ranch was the perfect Joshua Tree getaway. Close to the park, close to Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree. Also, easy day trips to Palm Springs and Temecula Wine Country. Everything was as described. The place was gorgeous, private, great location, and a great retreat from the world. We had an excellent vacation exploring Southern California and hope to get back soon!
Rex and Walker
Georgia

I'm so happy my friend's and I got the chance to stay at their place. It was so peaceful and private. Just what we were looking for. It was a bit of a last minute trip and reservation, when I reached out to them. And they were still super responsive and accommodating. We loved that it wasn't right in town, so there was less light pollution and we could see ALL the stars! There was so much space both inside and outside. Not to mention the beautiful kitchen that had more than enough room for cooking. And although we were further from town, we weren't super secluded either. There were still neighbors around but not right next to the house. Which we loved. The property also has a gate and is fenced off. I would absolutely recommend this place if you want a nice peaceful stay in the desert, with ample room for friends/family. And I would definitely book this place again in the future!
