The Amos Cabin was great and couldn't beat the location, right be the river. We look forward to going back and trying one of the other cabins

There is a particular kind of stillness that belongs to cabins built close to water. Not silence exactly, but a steady, ambient presence, the sound of a river doing what it has always done, moving past timber and stone without urgency. Amos Cabin sits at the edge of that current, a riverfront retreat with the kind of character that only decades of weather, wood grain, and honest construction can produce. The structure feels iconic not because it announces itself but because it belongs so completely to its setting that it seems to have grown from the landscape rather than been placed upon it.
Inside, the cabin delivers a living experience that favors warmth and simplicity over unnecessary ornamentation. The interior spaces are designed around comfort and proximity to the outdoors, with windows that frame the river and allow natural light to move through the rooms throughout the day. The layout accommodates guests with a sense of ease, offering a kitchen for preparing meals at your own pace, a living area that invites lingering conversation or quiet reading, and sleeping quarters that feel sheltered and restful. The furnishings lean toward the rustic and the tactile, materials you want to touch, surfaces that have softened with time. There is nothing performative about the design. It simply works, the way well-loved things tend to.
Much of the time spent at Amos Cabin unfolds outdoors. The riverfront location is not a backdrop but the central experience, shaping mornings spent with coffee at the water's edge and evenings when the light changes over the current and the air cools. Whether you spend the day fishing, kayaking, or simply sitting on the bank watching the water pass, the cabin serves as a home base that asks very little of you and gives back a generous sense of place. The surrounding landscape offers its own rhythm of exploration, with opportunities to hike, wade, or simply wander along the river's course.
What stays with you after a visit to Amos Cabin is not a single dramatic moment but a feeling of recalibration. The days here are shaped by the river's tempo, unhurried and continuous. You eat when you are hungry, sleep when the darkness settles in, and wake to the sound of water moving over rock. It is the kind of place that reminds you how little you actually need to feel entirely at ease.

There's something about a cabin that sits right where huckleberry bushes meet a river that tells you this place wasn't built to impress — it was built because someone understood what quiet abundance actually feels like. Amos Cabin has the soul of an original structure, the kind of place that earned its character over time rather than having it styled in. The loft with its king bed perched above the river sounds is the sort of arrangement you don't forget easily — not because it's grand, but because it collapses the distance between you and the water in a way that reshapes how you sleep. The back deck, the hot tub at the river's edge, the firepit — they all pull you toward the same thing: being outside, unhurried, oriented toward the current. It's a place for people who want both the mountains and the intimacy of a single well-considered room.

Nick was an incredible host! He was super responsive and when we made a mistake with our scheduling he was very accommodating and quick to help with suggestions and options. <br/>The property was super cute and exactly what we were looking for in a mountain getaway close to trails and the river. Super relaxing, super peaceful and lots of fun amenities! They left fresh flowers which was a nice touch and the hot tubs and cold plunge were perfectly calibrated. Definitely can’t wait to stay at this place again

Index Cabins was hands down one of the best experiences my Husband and I have ever had one of our stay-cations. We immediately fell in love with the location, and the Amos cabin, as soon as we stepped inside. The cabin is very well kept, the perfect mix of rustic and modern, and has every amenity you could ask for. There's no shortage on things to do, both in location, and within the property itself, and we would highly recommend these Cabins to anyone we know, and are already planning to come back many times ourselves.
