Stay Duvet
There is a particular pleasure in arriving somewhere that feels immediately like yours. Sundance is that kind of place. A private residence set just one block from King Street in Charleston, it greets you with the unhurried warmth of a home that has been carefully considered rather than merely decorated. The architecture carries the charm native to Charleston's historic residential streets, where porches and garden walls frame a quieter version of the city. Step inside and the space opens with a sense of light and ease, the kind of interior that invites bare feet on cool floors and late-morning coffee with nowhere particular to be.
The private pool is the defining anchor of the property and the detail around which most days will naturally organize themselves. Tucked within the outdoor space, it offers a rare luxury for a property this close to the energy of downtown Charleston. Whether it is a midday swim between excursions or an evening float as the light softens overhead, the pool transforms the home into something closer to a resort than a rental. The surrounding outdoor area provides space for lounging, gathering, or simply sitting with a glass of wine as the neighborhood settles into its evening rhythm. Inside, the home is appointed to accommodate comfortably, with well-defined living areas, a kitchen suited to preparing meals with ingredients gathered from nearby markets, and bedrooms designed for genuine rest.
Location is perhaps Sundance's most compelling advantage beyond its private grounds. King Street is one of the most storied corridors in the American South, a thoroughfare lined with independent boutiques, celebrated restaurants, and the kind of neighborhood bars where conversations linger well past last call. The proximity means you can walk to dinner, wander through galleries, or simply stroll without a plan and find yourself somewhere worth staying awhile. Charleston's broader landscape of historic architecture, waterfront parks, and culinary culture is all within easy reach, yet the return home each evening feels like a genuine retreat from the city's spirited pace.
What Sundance ultimately offers is a rare combination of independence and intimacy. There is no front desk, no lobby, no scheduled breakfast. Instead, there is the freedom to set your own tempo against the backdrop of one of the South's most captivating cities. Mornings begin at whatever hour suits you, afternoons dissolve poolside, and evenings unfold according to nothing more than appetite and curiosity. It is the kind of stay that leaves you not with a list of things you did, but with the feeling of a place that fit.

There's a particular pleasure in having a full Charleston single house to yourself — the scale of it, the way the rooms breathe, the sense that you're not borrowing someone else's space but temporarily inhabiting a life. Sundance has that quality. It's generous without being showy, with high-end finishes that feel considered rather than catalog-ordered, and a layout that lets a large group spread out without losing the thread of togetherness. The private pool gives the whole stay a different center of gravity — you're one block from King Street's energy, but you never feel pulled toward it out of necessity. It's the kind of place that works for a celebration or reunion not because it tries to impress, but because it quietly makes room for the occasion to become its own thing.

Overall very nice play. Has been updated. Good location for those wanting to stay in walking distance to downtown but a little less street noise.

Great place in a perfect location near King Street. Rooms all nice, only negative was the outside area with the pool was dirty but other than that very good value.
