Stay Duvet
There is a particular quality to homes that have been genuinely lived in before they were offered to guests. You sense it at The Moultrie in the weight of the doors, the considered arrangement of furniture, the way each room feels composed rather than decorated. This is a residence with presence, the kind of place where architectural details carry quiet authority and the proportions of the rooms suggest an earlier, more gracious way of building. The effect is immediate: you are not checking in so much as settling into a house that already knows how to hold people well.
The interiors balance character with comfort in a way that feels unhurried and personal. Living spaces are generous, with seating arranged for conversation and natural light moving through the rooms at different hours. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking, not as an afterthought but as a genuine center of the home. Bedrooms are restful and thoughtfully appointed, with quality linens and enough space to feel private even when the house is full. Bathrooms are clean-lined and well finished. Throughout, the furnishings suggest a considered eye rather than a catalog order, mixing periods and textures with the confidence of someone who has taken their time.
What distinguishes The Moultrie is the way it functions as a complete home rather than a staged backdrop for a short stay. There is room to gather and room to retreat. Outdoor space extends the living areas and offers a place to sit with morning coffee or an evening drink. The property accommodates groups and families without the compromises that often come with rental homes at this level. Every detail, from the hardware to the art on the walls, reinforces the sense that someone cared about getting this right.
You leave The Moultrie with the particular satisfaction of having stayed somewhere that trusted its own identity. No grand gestures, no theatrical staging. Just a residence that understood the difference between luxury as performance and luxury as the simple, enduring pleasure of a beautiful home, well kept and generously shared.

What strikes you about The Moultrie isn't grandness — it's intention. This is a restored Charleston home in Cannonborough-Elliotborough that feels like someone with genuine taste and real affection for the city shaped every room with a specific kind of guest in mind: the sort who notices the difference between curated and decorated. The interiors nod to Charleston's heritage without leaning on nostalgia, and there's a warmth here that keeps the refinement from feeling stiff. Three bedrooms and a properly equipped kitchen give it the bones of a home rather than a rental, which matters when you're staying more than a night or two. Being a short walk from King Street means you're close to the city's pulse without being inside it — a distinction that quietly defines the whole experience.

We have stayed in a few locations in Charleston before but this was by far our favorite! The space is perfect for a group and we were able to work from the kitchen island comfortably. The location was great -- quick walk to King Street and loads of restaurants, bars, & shops! Everything was super clean.

The place was absolutely beautiful and extremely clean. The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. The help-center was came in handy in a pinch and easily fixed a potentially stressful situation. I cannot say enough good things about this experience! Very impressive!
