We stayed with two other couples at one of the Inn’s off-site « lodges, » Lazy Bear Lodge. It was lovely, spacious but cozy, clean, with all the amenities we wanted. We will try to make it an annual sojourn!

The desert has a way of stripping things back to what matters. At Winters Haven, that clarity takes physical form: clean lines against an arid landscape, open views that stretch toward distant ridgelines, and a property designed around the simple pleasures of warmth, water, and unhurried days. This is a private residence that operates on its own rhythm, offering the kind of self-directed retreat where mornings unfold around a hot cup of coffee on the patio and afternoons dissolve into long soaks under a wide, uninterrupted sky.
The home itself is designed for gathering and for solitude in equal measure. Indoor living spaces open naturally to the outdoors, where the property's most defining features await. A private pool anchors the backyard, flanked by desert views that give every swim the quality of something cinematic. The hot tub offers a slower counterpoint, particularly as temperatures drop in the evening and the sky shifts through its desert palette. A sauna rounds out the wellness trifecta, providing a ritual that pairs well with cool desert nights. Together, these three elements create a daily rotation that guests tend to settle into quickly and abandon reluctantly.
Inside, the residence is outfitted for comfort and ease. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals at home, which feels especially right given the property's sense of seclusion and self-sufficiency. Living areas are furnished for lounging and conversation, with enough space for a group to spread out without losing the warmth of togetherness. The accommodations are private and well-appointed, offering restful sleep after days spent largely outdoors.
What lingers about Winters Haven is not any single amenity but the cumulative effect of its parts: the mineral stillness of the desert, the contrast of cool water against dry heat, the particular satisfaction of watching the sun set from a place that feels entirely your own. It is a home that asks very little of you and, in return, gives back something increasingly rare: genuine, unstructured rest.

There's a particular quiet that settles over you on the drive in — the private dirt road narrows your world down to dust and sky, and by the time you arrive, the noise you carried with you feels like it belonged to someone else. Winters Haven earns its appeal not through spectacle but through a kind of honest alignment with the desert around it. The interiors lean into earthy tones and textures that feel considered rather than decorated, and the whole property reads like it was designed by someone who actually spends time out here. The firepit becomes the natural center of gravity after dark, with an unbroken horizon that makes conversation feel a little more open. It's the kind of place that suits people who want to be together without a schedule — and who understand that real luxury, sometimes, is just uninterrupted stillness.

My husband and I didn't stay here but we visited the gift shop and made a dinner reservation at the restaurant, Kindred Spirits, and I can't express enough how much we enjoyed ourselves. It was our 10 year anniversary and our waitress, Shawn, went all out for us. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the food is absolutely incredible. I got the scallops, my husband got the lemon and herb chicken, we had the clams for an appetizer, and the mixed berry cobbler for dessert. Every bite was delicious. The chef is talented! I also got a glass of wine and it was very tasty. The menu options are great. The prices are a little high but it's so worth it for the experience! It was absolutely perfect for our anniversary dinner and we will for sure be back! Thank you to Shawn and the staff for making our special night even more special♥️

Cabin was amazing. Good food on site. If we didn’t want to leave the grounds we could have stayed the entire weekend just on the property no problem. Massages were also top notch. Highly recommend for any trip. One of the best places we’ve stayed in Hocking Hills so far.

My husband and I stayed in one of their Yurts for our 10th anniversary. It was a great experience! The Yurt was very well done with such nice little touches throughout. Breakfast at the inns restaurant Kindred Spirits was phenomenal! I would say average spa services but very friendly! Very close to Hocking Hills trails which provided an enjoyable afternoon of hiking! Loved everything about our stay.

The dining experience I had at Kindred Spirits was absolutely amazing. All around was fantastic- the food was amazing, the service was friendly, the atmosphere is so cozy & wonderful. I could not wait to leave a review of this place. I had the Asian Sea Bass & my husband for the Bistro Steak & both were incredible but I have to say that was the best fish I’ve ever had! If I could give more stars I would.
