Stay Duvet
The Drayton Suite sits at the center of King Street, one of the most celebrated corridors in the American South. This private residence occupies a position that places you within steps of the galleries, restaurants, and century-old storefronts that give the street its distinctive character. From the moment you arrive, the setting announces itself quietly: this is not a hotel experience but something more intimate, a suite designed to let you inhabit a neighborhood rather than simply visit one.
Inside, the Drayton Suite is arranged as a comfortable and well-appointed private apartment. The space is designed for guests who want the independence of a residential stay without sacrificing thoughtful design or considered details. Clean lines and warm finishes create an atmosphere that feels both current and respectful of its surroundings. A full kitchen allows you to shop the local markets and cook at your own pace, while the living area provides a genuine place to settle in after a day spent exploring. The bedroom is set up for proper rest, with quality linens and enough space to breathe. It is the kind of place where mornings feel unhurried and evenings unfold on your own terms.
King Street itself serves as the property's greatest amenity. The thoroughfare stretches through Charleston's historic peninsula, shifting character block by block from antique shops and fine dining to independent boutiques and casual neighborhood haunts. You are positioned to walk to nearly everything that matters here, whether that means a long dinner at one of the city's acclaimed restaurants, a morning spent browsing art galleries, or an afternoon wandering toward the waterfront. The proximity to Charleston's cultural heart means that the suite functions less as a destination in itself and more as a perfectly placed base from which the city reveals itself naturally.
What stays with you about the Drayton Suite is the rhythm it encourages. There is no lobby to pass through, no check-in ritual to navigate. You simply arrive, settle in, and let King Street set the tempo. It is a stay built around freedom and proximity, where the best of Charleston is never more than a few steps from your door.

What strikes you first is how the space manages to feel both grand and intimate — high ceilings and large windows give it the bones of a proper Charleston home, but the designer furnishings and thoughtful layout make it land closer to a place you'd actually live in, not just admire. Set in Cannonborough Elliotborough, it sits just off King Street without being swallowed by it, which gives you that rare balance of proximity and quiet. The open flow from kitchen to living space has an easy sociability to it, the kind that makes a late-morning coffee stretch into a long conversation. It's a stay that rewards the traveler who values atmosphere over spectacle — one where the city's history isn't performed but simply present in the architecture around you.
