What we love about this stay
Get to the rooftop by 5pm — not for sunset drinks, but for the twenty minutes before, when the call to prayer rises from every direction across the medina and the light turns the Atlas Mountains pink. It's the single best moment at El Fenn. Ask for a room with a private balcony facing inward over the courtyard rather than the street; the quiet is worth more than any view. At dinner, skip the safe options and let the kitchen make you a proper tangia — it's slow-cooked and needs notice, so mention it at check-in. The spa is small but genuinely good; book the hammam for your first morning to shake off travel fog. El Fenn rewards you most when you slow down and let the riad's rhythm set your pace.

If you go once you WILL come back I have been well and truly El Fenned!! Second stay there a week ago after discovering this place in August, when we arrive we do not want to leave. Thanks everyone for making our stay so comfortable and Anna for looking after us so well. We will be back I can 100% say!! Room Tip: All the rooms are amazing, for me Room 10 is the one (the blue room in the courtyard)

This is a great hotel - we really enjoyed our stay. It is really beautifully decorated with quiet courtyards and marble staircases. It feels very homely with extremely polite and attentive staff. The location is perfect - steps away from the bustle of the medina, yet not too hidden away down alleyways - definitely an oasis of calm to relax in after a morning wandering the souks. The rooftop restaurant was superb - plentiful breakfasts, and the best food we ate in Marrakech for dinner. The rooftop terrace as a whole was the best we visited, with separate areas for the restaurant, bar (with a great atmosphere in evenings) and the pool area. The rooftop pool was impressively sized: there were two smaller pools on the ground floor as well but the roof one was definitely the best. It's not cheap. Other riads may have similar beautiful interiors (although unlikely such a nice pool, most look more decorative). The small room was smaller than I expected, and we didn't have a bath (most of the pictures on their website do...) There's an extra mandatory daily service charge of around 30 euros. However the overall set up is incredibly welcoming and relaxing, the location perfect, the food delicious, and we would definitely stay again tomorrow if we could.

Staying at El Fenn with my fiancée was an experience we’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a hidden world full of beauty, warmth, and charm. The design of the hotel is absolutely stunning. Every room, hallway, and courtyard feels like a piece of art. It’s easily one of the most beautifully designed places we’ve ever stayed. Our room was incredibly comfortable. Everything from the bed, always having a cold bottle of water, to the little details made it feel special and inviting. But what really made the stay unforgettable was the staff. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. We didn’t feel like guests. We felt like we were coming home. What touched us most were the random acts of kindness from the staff, little surprises like complimentary desserts, free drinks, and thoughtful gestures that made us feel truly cared for. It wasn’t just hospitality, it was soulful. Every part of the experience had a touch of magic. Whether we were relaxing on the rooftop, enjoying a quiet moment in the courtyard, or just wandering through the hotel, there was a constant feeling of peace and wonder. El Fenn is more than just a hotel. It is a feeling that stayed with us long after we left. We’re already talking about when we can go back. Truly one of the best places we’ve ever stayed, and we can’t recommend it highly enough.

Great hotel but a bit too European Difficult to fault El Fenn. Well located, excellent facilities, lots of staff, comfortable rooms, great roof terrace but once inside you didn't have enough of Morocco.
