The road narrows past the last stretch of Marrakech's outskirts, and the landscape opens into something older and unhurried. Olive trees appear in rows, their trunks gnarled and patient, their canopy filtering the light into something softer. L'Oliveraie de l'Atlas sits within this grove, a low-slung property built in warm earth tones that seem continuous with the land itself. Berber architectural details and traditional craftsmanship shape the spaces here, walls finished in tadelakt, courtyards arranged around water and garden, and interiors that carry the quiet warmth of handmade things. The Atlas Mountains form a backdrop that shifts with the hour, pink at dawn, sharp-edged in the midday sun, blue and distant by evening.
Accommodations are arranged across the property's grounds as suites and private villas, each designed with a sense of generous intimacy. Rooms open to terraces or garden views, dressed in natural textiles and Moroccan artisanship. The layout encourages a slow rhythm between indoor and outdoor life, with shaded lounge areas, a swimming pool set among the olive trees, and pathways that wind through the estate's gardens. A hammam and spa offer traditional Moroccan wellness rituals, including scrubs, massages, and treatments drawn from local botanical traditions. The pool area, framed by loungers and palms, becomes a natural gathering place through the warmer hours.
Dining at L'Oliveraie de l'Atlas draws on the surrounding terroir and Moroccan culinary tradition. Meals are served in intimate settings, often outdoors, with menus that foreground seasonal ingredients, tagines, grilled meats, salads bright with citrus and herbs, and pastries fragrant with orange blossom. The property's own olive grove informs the kitchen, and fresh-pressed olive oil is a quiet signature across the table. Evenings settle into candlelit dinners where the air carries the scent of jasmine and charcoal.
The property's position between Marrakech and the foothills of the Atlas Mountains gives guests access to both the energy of the medina and the silence of the countryside. Day trips into the mountains, visits to nearby Berber villages, and excursions through the Ourika Valley or Agafay Desert are within easy reach. But the estate itself exerts a particular gravity. Many guests find that the hours spent beneath the olive canopy, moving between the pool and the hammam and the terrace table, are the ones that stay longest. L'Oliveraie de l'Atlas does not rush toward spectacle. It offers instead the rarer luxury of settling in, of days shaped by light and appetite and the sound of wind through silver leaves.

What we love about this stay
What stays with you here isn't the luxury itself but the particular quiet that settles in once the energy of Marrakech falls away behind those gates. L'Oliveraie de l'atlas sits in that rare space between retreat and immersion — olive groves and the Atlas Mountains as a constant backdrop, earth tones inside that echo the landscape rather than fight it. The rooms feel grounded, designed to let the setting do the talking. There's a commitment to local flavor that runs through the dining, and the spa draws on Morocco's own traditions rather than importing someone else's wellness vocabulary. It's a property that suits the kind of traveler who wants proximity to the medina's richness without carrying its intensity back to their pillow.

A lovely place amazing views set in beautiful gardens. A really lovely place, beautifully made, welcoming and amazing food. A great spa too. The hotel director gives out his card so you can speak with him if you need and he was very helpful. In the middle of winter the pool and Jacuzzi aren't heated, but even in January the weather can get to around 20 degrees so when it's nice weather you can sit by the pool and swim. They have fruit trees growing on site and gorgeous views from the room and rooftop
