The building itself announces a different kind of Parisian hotel. SO/ Paris occupies a striking contemporary structure along the Seine, its facade a bold counterpoint to the Haussmannian limestone that lines most of the city's boulevards. This is a property shaped by fashion as much as by architecture, where creative direction from the world of haute couture extends into every floor, every corridor, every room key. Arriving here, you step into a lobby that feels more like a design gallery than a traditional hotel reception, with artistic installations and a visual energy that pulses through the public spaces.
The 274 rooms and suites carry that same spirit of creative irreverence. Interiors play with color, pattern, and proportion in ways that feel distinctly Parisian but never predictable, with views stretching across the river toward Notre-Dame, the Jardin des Plantes, or the city's rooftops depending on your vantage point. Signature suites push further into experimentation, with bespoke furnishings and design details that treat each stay as something closer to an immersive art experience. Throughout the property, a rotating calendar of cultural programming, DJ sets, and fashion-adjacent events keeps the atmosphere charged with a social current that draws both travelers and locals.
Dining at SO/ Paris is built around spectacle and setting. The rooftop bar offers one of the more dramatic perches in the city, with panoramic views across the Seine and a cocktail program designed to match the altitude. Restaurant spaces on property blend French culinary traditions with a more international, design-conscious sensibility, creating environments where the meal is inseparable from the room it occupies. A fitness center and wellness offerings provide a quieter counterpoint, giving guests space to recalibrate between the property's more social moments.
The hotel sits in the 13th arrondissement, a neighborhood that has evolved into one of the most culturally dynamic quarters of modern Paris. Street art, independent galleries, the floating nightlife venues along the riverbanks, and proximity to institutions like the Bibliothèque nationale de France give the surrounding area an energy that mirrors the hotel's own creative posture. This is not the Paris of postcard clichés, but something more restless and contemporary, a district where the city is actively being reimagined.
What stays with you after SO/ Paris is the refusal to separate style from substance. Every design choice, every curated event, every room detail contributes to a property that treats hospitality as a form of creative expression. It is a hotel that belongs unmistakably to this city but operates on its own terms, leaving you with the feeling that Paris still has the capacity to surprise.

What we love about this stay
There's a particular energy here that feels distinctly Parisian but not at all traditional—art and fashion pulse through the corridors like a second heartbeat, with curated installations turning even a walk to your room into something worth slowing down for. SO/ Paris sits right on the Seine, and that proximity to the river gives the whole place a grounding calm that balances its more provocative, couture-inflected design sensibility. The 162 rooms lean into floor-to-ceiling glass, pulling the city's rooftops and landmarks into your private frame. Downstairs, Bonnie blurs the line between restaurant and nightlife with a fluidity that feels very now—dinner shifts into cocktails, cocktails into something more electric. It's a property that rewards those who appreciate when a hotel has a genuine point of view rather than simply a high thread count.

A little rocky at check in- room not ready (was one hour before check in time, had requested early check in).. no problem. Left luggage and went out to explore. Said they would call when room was ready. Never got a call but returned back and finished check in and brought to room. After attendant left, realized luggage was not in room as promised when dropped it earlier. They had luggage brought up promptly. After that, no issues with room or stay
