The place was absolutely gorgeous! Super clean, super spacious!

The light arrives differently here. It pours across open sky and settles into the earth with a warmth that feels deliberate, almost architectural. Taj Sahara By The Cohost Company sits in Yucca Valley, a private desert residence designed for the kind of gathering that slows down the moment you step through the door. The structure draws from its landscape rather than competing with it, its form low and grounded against a wide horizon, the surrounding terrain all golden sand, Joshua trees, and the particular silence that only the high desert knows how to hold.
The property centers around a private pool and hot tub, both open to the sky and framed by the expanse of the desert floor. Hammocks are strung across the outdoor spaces, positioned for the kind of idle, sun-warmed hours that become the most memorable part of any trip. The layout encourages movement between indoors and out, with living areas that open naturally to the surrounding landscape. This is a full residence, meaning the kitchen, bedrooms, and shared spaces all belong to you and your group for the duration of your stay. There is no front desk, no lobby, no other guests passing through. The privacy is complete, and the rhythm of the day is entirely your own.
Yucca Valley occupies the transition zone between the Mojave Desert and the communities that border Joshua Tree National Park. The town itself has a quiet, independent character, home to small galleries, vintage shops, and a handful of restaurants that reflect the creative, unhurried spirit of the region. The national park's western entrance is a short drive away, opening up miles of hiking trails, boulder formations, and some of the most dramatic sunsets in Southern California. Back at the property, evenings tend to migrate outdoors, where the sky darkens into something vast and star-filled, the desert air cooling just enough to make the hot tub feel essential.
Taj Sahara is not a hotel and does not try to behave like one. It is a home set against one of the most visually striking landscapes in the American West, built for small groups who want space, warmth, and the freedom to do very little at all. The days here have a way of organizing themselves around light and water and open air, and the nights belong to the kind of quiet that most places have forgotten how to offer.

There's a particular quality to a place that doesn't try to compete with its landscape but instead quietly steps aside for it. Taj Sahara sits against a hillside in Yucca Valley with a bohemian sensibility — earthy tones, natural materials, a design vocabulary that feels borrowed from the desert rather than imposed upon it. The open-plan living space has that rare unhurried energy, the kind where a reading nook actually gets used and meals around the communal table stretch longer than planned. Outside, the pool and hot tub feel less like amenities and more like extensions of the terrain, and the fire pit becomes the natural gathering point once the sky darkens. It's the sort of property that suits a small group of people who genuinely like each other's company and don't need much beyond good conversation and an honest landscape to feel like they've gone somewhere that matters.

We had a short, but peaceful experience here. A really cool vibe, with amazing stargazing by the fire. The house is tastefully decorated to give you that serene desert energy. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful. We’ll be back!

We had a wonderful stay! The place was exactly as described — clean, cozy, and in a great location. Communication with the host was easy and quick, and check-in went smoothly. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the little touches that made the space feel like home. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

I’ve got to say I have stayed at many airbnbs and this has got to top them all. The area was very quiet and secluded. The house was spotless. The views were amazing. The hosting company was very attentive. I would stay here again if I was in the area.
