Stay Duvet
The Murray sits just two blocks from King Street, Charleston's most storied corridor of galleries, restaurants, and independent shops. This private residence offers the kind of proximity that lets you walk home after dinner, coffee still warm on the porch by morning. The home carries a sense of ease that feels native to its surroundings, a place where the pace of the city softens into something personal and unhurried.
Inside, the layout is open and functional, designed for guests who want to live in a neighborhood rather than simply visit one. The kitchen is fully equipped for those mornings when you'd rather cook than go out, and the living spaces are arranged to encourage gathering or quiet retreat in equal measure. Natural light moves through the rooms in a way that marks the hours, and the furnishings strike a comfortable balance between character and simplicity. There is nothing overwrought here, just a well-kept home that feels ready for you.
The location is the defining advantage. King Street unfolds in both directions with its mix of acclaimed dining, local boutiques, and the kind of neighborhood bars where regulars still sit at the same stools. The broader peninsula is walkable from the front door, placing the Battery, Rainbow Row, and the Charleston City Market all within easy reach. This part of the city rewards those who wander on foot, and The Murray positions you to do exactly that without relying on a car or a concierge.
What stays with you is the rhythm the home encourages. You return from an evening out and the porch light is on. You wake without an alarm and the street is quiet. The Murray doesn't try to compete with Charleston's considerable charms. It simply gives you a well-placed, thoughtfully maintained home from which to experience them at your own pace, a base that feels less like a booking and more like belonging.

There's a quietness to The Murray that feels earned rather than engineered — a one-bedroom residence in Charleston's Cannonborough/Elliotborough neighborhood that understands the difference between being decorated and being considered. The open living space catches natural light in a way that makes you want to linger, and the design walks a line between historic character and modern restraint without leaning too hard in either direction. It's clearly a place built around two people, not a crowd — the dining nook, the queen bed in premium linens, the kitchen that actually invites cooking rather than just looking the part. Being two blocks from King Street means you're close to the energy without being inside it, which is exactly the kind of proximity that makes a Charleston stay feel like yours.

We had a wonderful stay! The location was great, the size of the unit for two people was perfect, and we had everything we needed! I would recommend to a couple looking for a getaway to Charleston!

My boyfriend and I were in Charleston for 5 nights and decided we wanted to stay close to downtown so that we could walk to restaurants and bars. The location of this Airbnb was so perfect. There were tons of bars, restaurants, and shopping a quick walk away. Being attached to Holey City Bagels was also a huge bonus. The Airbnb was super clean and aesthetic and even had a record player. We decided to walk to the nearest record store and pick up two more records to listen to on our trip that just made everything even more special. Some reviews mentioned noise, and yes, the walls are paper thin so you can hear people if you're in the living area but back in the bedroom this was not a problem at all. Our only issue we ran into was being SUPER hot while sleeping. We couldn't turn the air down past 70 degrees and it being an older building meant that 70 feels like 75. We even brought a box fan and we couldn't sleep at night and were soaked with sweat. Definitely recommend bringing a fan!
