Stay Duvet
There is a particular stillness that comes with elevation, the feeling of being gently lifted out of the everyday and placed somewhere the air moves differently. Aviary earns its name honestly. This is a residence designed around the experience of living among the trees, where the architecture draws the eye upward and outward, and the boundaries between interior comfort and the natural canopy beyond begin to soften. The structure feels intentional in its lightness, with clean lines and generous windows that make the surrounding greenery not a backdrop but a companion to every room.
The space itself is thoughtfully composed for both gathering and solitude. Living areas are open and airy, designed to encourage lingering conversations or quiet mornings with a book. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests who prefer to cook at their own pace, and the dining area sits where the light is generous, making even a simple meal feel unhurried. Bedrooms are calm and uncluttered, oriented to take in views of the surrounding landscape from the comfort of bed. Throughout the residence, the material palette favors natural tones and textures, wood and warm neutrals that feel honest rather than decorative. The overall effect is one of careful restraint, a home that feels designed rather than decorated.
Outdoor spaces extend the living area into the canopy itself. Whether from a deck or balcony, there is a persistent sense of perching, of inhabiting a vantage point that most homes never offer. Mornings here tend to begin with birdsong and the slow shift of light through leaves. Evenings settle in quietly, the kind of dusk that invites you to stay outside a few minutes longer than you planned.
Aviary is a residence built for guests who want to step away without disappearing entirely. It offers the privacy and self-sufficiency of a home with the careful design sensibility of a boutique stay. The rhythm here is your own to set. Days might be spent exploring the surrounding area, returning to cook dinner as the light fades, or simply doing very little at all. What stays with you after a visit is the rare quality of feeling both sheltered and open, grounded in comfort yet somehow closer to the sky.

There's a particular kind of pleasure in staying somewhere that feels genuinely authored—where someone with a real point of view has made hundreds of quiet decisions about color, pattern, and proportion, and every one of them lands. This Charleston single home carries the fingerprints of a set designer who's worked on Wes Anderson films, and you feel it not as pastiche but as atmosphere: a vintage warmth threaded with wit, rooms that read as both nostalgic and alive. The dual-tiered porches put you just close enough to the rhythm of the historic streets without pulling you into them. Five blocks from King Street, you're near everything without being swallowed by it. It's the kind of place that rewards people who care about where they sleep as much as where they eat.

Really nice, clean space for a large group. The host responded fast and was super accommodating. 5 stars for me.

Our group of 12 had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Wes Anderson house! The house itself was spacious, well-appointed, and very clean and tidy. We felt we each had plenty of space, and then some! We appreciated the updated bathrooms and well-equipped kitchen. The living areas are far more spacious than the photos show, and the upper level balcony points toward sunset. Location was fantastic, we walked to most everything in town, and took advantage of the nearby shops & restaurants too. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to larger families and groups!

This charming, huge (we rented both units), historic home is ideally located within walking distance of King St and so many other attractions! It was perfect for our 4 families. There was plenty of room for all 14 of us to hang out together, and also enough square footage to get some private space when needed. Since we booked the entire home, off-street parking was ample. There were a few small glitches but none of them would keep us from returning. The communication between our party and StayDuvet was superior, but their communication with their cleaning crew was less so. Despite a confirmed late check out, we returned from breakfast on our last day to find the driveway blocked by a man insisting we leave since it was past 11 am. The matter was resolved within 15 minutes or so, but was unsettling. Another small annoyance was that a few things were broken when we arrived. Nothing critical, just a little disappointing. One item was fixed by a member of our party; one we did without. As one would expect with an historic home, the wood floors are creaky and a bit uneven in spots, but presented no hazards to our youngest and oldest family. All in all it was an amazing stay in a great area and I would book this charming home again in a heartbeat.
