Great stay. When there was a minor problem it was fixed promptly and with great communication. Definitely recommend.

Stay Duvet
There is a particular pleasure in arriving at a place that feels neither staged nor spare, where the details suggest a life already in progress rather than a set piece assembled for guests. Rutledge Avenue Inn, Suite B, occupies that rare space. This is a downtown residence with the proportions and presence of a proper inn, yet the intimacy of staying in someone's most considered room. The architecture carries the character of its surroundings, with high ceilings, period details, and the kind of natural light that changes the mood of a space throughout the day.
The suite itself is designed for comfort that doesn't announce itself. You'll find a well-appointed bedroom, a private bathroom, and living areas that invite you to settle in rather than simply pass through. The kitchen is fully equipped, a detail that quietly shifts the rhythm of a stay, allowing mornings to unfold at your own pace with coffee made on your terms. Thoughtful touches throughout the space, from quality linens to curated furnishings, suggest a host who understands that luxury in a residence isn't about excess but about everything working exactly as it should. The overall effect is warm, polished, and genuinely livable.
Located downtown, Rutledge Avenue Inn places you within walking distance of the restaurants, shops, and cultural landmarks that define the neighborhood. The position is central enough to make a car feel optional for much of your stay, lending a sense of freedom that larger accommodations set on the outskirts rarely offer. Evenings here might begin with a walk through tree-lined streets before dinner at a nearby restaurant, or simply with a glass of wine in the quiet of the suite itself.
What stays with you after a night at Rutledge Avenue Inn is the feeling of having been trusted with something personal. There are no lobbies, no check-in desks, no buffet breakfasts. Instead, there is a front door, a key, and a beautifully kept suite that asks nothing of you except to enjoy it. It is the kind of stay that reminds you how much of hospitality is simply about proportion, care, and knowing when to step aside.

What gets you here is the quiet tension between old and new—a 1910 Charleston residence that hasn't forgotten its bones but doesn't cling to nostalgia either. The antebellum-inspired exterior reads like a love letter to the city's architectural past, but step inside and the rooms feel decisively modern, considered rather than decorated. It's a two-bedroom suite that breathes like a home, not a hotel, which changes everything about how you settle in. The kitchen feels genuinely usable, the kind of space where you'd actually cook after wandering the Historic Charleston Market a few blocks away. And there's something about the sea breeze drifting through—it reminds you that the coast is close, that this city sits between history and water. It suits the traveler who wants Charleston without performance, a place that earns its charm honestly.

This is the first time I rented an airbnb from a company vs an individual owner but the service and communication were great. The place was as described, in a great location, and very nice and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful space with an amazing sun-filled porch getting afternoon and evening sun. Close enough to walk to most everything. As we knew, and as was reaffirmed, restaurants are almost always fully-booked so either plan and reserve ahead or be prepared to improvise.
