The approach to Andronis Arcadia unfolds along the steep western rim of Santorini's caldera, where whitewashed architecture cascades down volcanic rock in a series of terraces, infinity pools, and private courtyards that seem to float above the Aegean. This is Oia at its most theatrical, and the property leans into the drama without restraint. Designed as a destination unto itself, Arcadia layers contemporary Greek aesthetics with a scale and ambition that sets it apart from the intimate cave hotels that define the village. Suites open to unobstructed views of the sea and the submerged crater below, many with private heated plunge pools, outdoor living spaces, and interiors that blend natural stone, soft linen, and a palette drawn from the island's own earth tones.
Dining here is central to the experience. Pacman, the property's signature restaurant, delivers refined Mediterranean cuisine with influences that stretch across the Aegean and beyond, emphasizing local produce and seafood in dishes that feel both rooted and inventive. For something more casual, Throubi offers a menu anchored in Santorinian tradition, celebrating the island's indigenous ingredients in a setting that feels warm and unhurried. Both restaurants share the same caldera-facing orientation, turning every meal into something close to ceremony as the light shifts across the water. A dedicated bar program rounds out the evenings, where cocktails arrive alongside sunsets that the island has made famous.
The wellness offering at Andronis Arcadia reflects a philosophy that extends well beyond a standard spa menu. The Evexia Spa draws on Greek botanical traditions and holistic treatments, with therapies designed around recovery, restoration, and sensory immersion. Treatment rooms look out over the caldera, and the overall approach favors depth over novelty. Multiple infinity pools are tiered into the cliffside at various levels of the property, each capturing a slightly different angle of the view. For guests drawn to the water, the hotel arranges private boat excursions, sunset cruises, and access to the volcanic hot springs that define the archipelago's geography.
Oia itself is a village best experienced on foot, its narrow pathways threading past galleries, small chapels, and family-run shops that have weathered decades of attention without losing their character. The famous kastro lookout, where crowds gather each evening for the sunset, sits within walking distance, though guests at Andronis Arcadia may find themselves content to watch from their own terrace instead. The island's vineyards, black sand beaches, and ancient ruins at Akrotiri are all within reach for those who want to explore beyond the caldera's edge. But the rhythm of this property encourages lingering. Between the pools, the spa, the dining, and the ceaseless pull of the view, Arcadia creates a self-contained world where time moves at the pace of the light crossing the water.

What we love about this stay
There's a particular quality to a property that sits on the edge of Oia — not just geographically but tonally. Andronis Arcadia feels like it was designed to hold still while the sky does all the moving, those caldera views shifting through impossible colors as evening settles in. The rooms lean modern and airy rather than heavy on Cycladic cliché, and having your own private pool changes the rhythm of a day entirely — you stop chasing experiences and let them arrive. The dining leans into what the island does best, seafood and Mediterranean flavors that taste like proximity rather than effort. It's a place that suits couples or anyone craving a few days where beauty feels effortless and unearned, where the architecture simply frames what was already there.

Gem for the whole family! We were a family of eight travelling, including three children ages 10, 16 and 17. This hotel was chosen because many of the other hotels of this class cater to couples. The property didn't disappoint. A few things of note, I prefer the caldera view from the other end of Oia but the views from this property are still breathtaking and have a better location to watch the sunset, which is a huge bonus since the crowds overwhelm the town at sunset. The rooms we stayed in were spotless and very comfortable with everything you need. The staff were terrific, the spa was excellent, and the breakfast was an added unexpected highlight. Overall, everyone enjoyed the stay very much and I felt it was a good value for the money.

I cannot say enough about how amazing this property is. From the pre-arrival communication, to the divine restaurants, to the large and well appointed pools, to the convenient location, everything was so well done! Upon arrival, we were welcomed and our bags were whisked away while we were brought on a tour of the property. We were shown all of the amenities and the gorgeous grounds and then taken to our room where we were given the tour of our 2 bedroom villa. The room was gorgeous. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and they even offered a pillow menu so if you needed a different type of pillow, you could simply order it and have it brought to the room. The front desk staff arranged a sunset cruise for us after providing several different options. They also coordinated with our next hotel at the end of our stay to ensure our luggage was brought to the next location for us. It was simply a next-level customer experience. We felt appreciated and cared for throughout our stay. It was wonderful!
