The William Vale arrives as a single, decisive gesture against the Williamsburg skyline. Twenty-one stories of floor-to-ceiling glass rise above the neighborhood's low-slung industrial fabric, and the effect is immediate. From the moment you step into the lobby, Manhattan's towers appear reframed through a Brooklyn lens, close enough to study but held at a comfortable distance. The architecture is lean and angular, all clean sight lines and considered restraint, a building designed less to blend in than to offer a new vantage point on a city most people think they already know.
The hotel's 183 rooms are built around the view. Every guest room features a private balcony, a rarity in New York, and interiors keep things deliberately pared back so the glass walls can do the talking. Warm wood, muted tones, and generous proportions let the cityscape become the room's defining feature, whether you're facing the Manhattan skyline, the East River, or the quieter stretches of Brooklyn below. Suites expand this logic further, with open living areas and deeper balconies that make the boundary between indoors and out feel almost negotiable.
Much of daily life at The William Vale unfolds across its public spaces and dining venues. Westlight, the rooftop bar on the 22nd floor, has become one of Brooklyn's defining destinations, a wraparound terrace where craft cocktails meet panoramic views that stretch from the Freedom Tower to the Williamsburg Bridge. Below it, Leuca offers Southern Italian cooking in a warm, convivial dining room anchored by an open kitchen. The hotel's ground-floor spaces include a seasonal beer garden and landscaped public plaza that invite the neighborhood in, blurring the line between hotel and community gathering place. A heated outdoor pool on the eighth floor provides a rare urban swim with open sky above, flanked by loungers and cabanas that catch afternoon light.
Williamsburg itself needs little introduction, but its value as a base is worth noting. The neighborhood's density of independent restaurants, galleries, vintage shops, and waterfront parks sits just outside the hotel's doors. Bedford Avenue's creative energy, Domino Park's riverfront promenades, and the easy L train connection to Manhattan all reinforce the feeling that The William Vale is less a retreat from the city than a smarter way to be inside it.
What stays with you is the balance the hotel strikes between spectacle and ease. The views are genuinely cinematic, the kind that stop you mid-sentence, but the rhythm of the place never tips into pretension. Mornings are quiet on the balcony with coffee. Evenings pull you upward to Westlight as the skyline shifts from gold to electric blue. It is a hotel that understands the simplest luxury New York can offer is space, light, and a clear line of sight.

What we love about this stay
There's a tension here that works — industrial Brooklyn grit meeting genuine sophistication, and neither side winning. The custom metalwork nods to the neighborhood's manufacturing past while floor-to-ceiling windows pull the Manhattan skyline into every room like a living artwork you didn't pay admission for. Marela Zacarias's colorful sculptures in the lobby set a tone that feels specific to this building, this borough, not interchangeable with any other luxury address. It's a hotel that understands Williamsburg without performing it. Andrew Carmellini's restaurants give you real range, from Southern Italian at Leuca to cocktails at Westlight with that panoramic view doing half the work. The private balconies are the quiet signature — a rare thing in New York, that sense of having your own sliver of sky above a city that rarely offers one.

Who could really ask for anything more when you enjoy being in a child free environment? The dining experiences and floor 22 views were amazing. I absolutely love the adult only atmosphere.
