Absolutely loved staying here for several days. Remote, private, peaceful.

Joshua Tree Olive Farm · Serenity, Spa, Views
The land arrives before the house does. Rows of olive trees line the drive, their silver-green leaves catching light against a backdrop of open desert and distant rock formations. Joshua Tree Olive Farm is a private residence set on a working agricultural property in the high desert, where the quiet is immediate and the horizon line stretches farther than you expect. The architecture is clean and contemporary, with large windows that frame the surrounding landscape from nearly every room. It is the kind of place where indoors and outdoors feel like a negotiation the desert has already won.
The home itself is designed for small groups or couples seeking space and privacy. Interiors are minimal and warm, furnished with a modern sensibility that lets the views do most of the talking. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests who want to cook at their own pace, and the living spaces open easily onto the grounds. Outside, the property's defining feature is its expanse. A private hot tub and spa area offers a place to soak under open sky, with unobstructed sightlines across the desert floor. The olive groves themselves are not decorative; they are a functioning part of the land, lending the property a sense of rootedness and purpose that distinguishes it from more transient vacation rentals.
Days here follow the rhythm of the landscape rather than any itinerary. Mornings are best spent outside, when the desert light is still soft and the air carries a coolness that fades by midday. The spa and hot tub become their own kind of ritual at dusk, when the sky shifts through colors that feel unreasonable. The property's setting offers proximity to the broader Joshua Tree area, with its national park, climbing culture, and scattering of independent galleries and roadside shops, but the farm itself provides enough stillness that leaving feels optional.
What lingers about Joshua Tree Olive Farm is the contrast between its agricultural character and its desert surroundings. This is not a manicured resort landscape or a styled desert cabin. It is a working property with real soil, real trees, and a genuine connection to the land it sits on. The serenity promised in its name is not aspirational; it is structural, built into the distance between you and the nearest neighbor, the width of the sky overhead, and the unhurried pace the place quietly insists upon.

There's something quietly radical about a thousand olive trees thriving in the high desert — it tells you something about the people behind this place before you even step inside. Built by a French father-son pair, the farmhouse carries that particular sensibility: rustic without pretension, warm without excess, a space where neutral tones and artful details feel chosen rather than styled. Five acres of open land surrounded by desert, yet the property reads as intimate, almost Mediterranean in spirit. The cowboy pool and hot tub sit against that vast, stark landscape in a way that feels earned, not curated. It's the kind of place that suits people who want proximity to Joshua Tree's wildness but crave a home base with genuine character and quiet.

One of the best places i’ve experienced. And I have traveled and stayed at so many locations. By far a must place to be a repeat guest. My husband and I postponed a lot of things due to a family passing . We had some days off . At first we weren’t gonna go anywhere due to a wedding we were going but we had an extra day off and said why not . Lets go for a whim and just go somewhere for us to reset and relax . I’m so glad we did because we loved everything about this home. Olive trees has a special symbol to us & to be surrounded by it . It blew our head off . It’s better than we expected.
For new guests,be mindful you are a way bit far from everyone and the town.
Make sure you pack lots of snacks lol. There is a little oven if you are planning to cook all weekend like we did . But it works great like a regular oven. So no complaints there . I love it when hosts are big on the little details , because it matters so much & iam grateful for the amenities. Thank you !
