This place was perfect for our bachelorette group! Super clean, Charleston-esque decor, lots of room to spread out and share time together in the kitchen. Overall we loved it!
The Egret announces itself not with grandeur but with a certain quietude, the kind of residence that feels discovered rather than arrived at. This is a home designed around the rhythms of its natural surroundings, where wide windows frame the landscape and interiors stay deliberately calm, letting the world outside do the work of atmosphere. The architecture favors clean lines and natural materials, creating spaces that feel both considered and lived in, the sort of place where every detail serves comfort without calling attention to itself.
Inside, the living spaces are open and light-filled, designed for slow mornings and unhurried evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests who prefer to cook at their own pace, and the communal areas encourage gathering without formality. Bedrooms are restful and uncluttered, with quality linens and a sense of proportion that makes each room feel generous. The layout of The Egret allows for both togetherness and solitude, with corners to read, surfaces to set down a glass of wine, and sightlines that draw the eye outward. It is the kind of residence where the floor plan itself becomes part of the experience, guiding movement naturally between indoor comfort and outdoor space.
The outdoor areas extend the living experience beyond the walls. Time here tends to organize itself around the light and the landscape, whether that means coffee on the patio as the day begins or watching the sky shift color in the late afternoon. The property's name suggests its proximity to the kind of waterside terrain where egrets wade and the air carries the faint salinity of tidal flats. This is a setting shaped by nature rather than development, where the surrounding environment offers walking, wildlife, and the particular stillness that comes from being near open water.
What stays with you after a visit to The Egret is not any single feature but a feeling of proportion. The residence understands the difference between luxury and comfort, and chooses the latter with quiet confidence. It is a place that asks very little of its guests and offers, in return, the rare gift of unstructured time in a setting that rewards attention. The hours here move at a pace you set yourself, and the space around you simply makes room.

There's a particular kind of magic when a space doesn't just look designed but feels imagined — and that's what hits you at The Egret. Conceived by a set designer who worked on Wes Anderson films, this second-floor Charleston single home has the quality of stepping into someone's very specific, very beautiful dream. Bespoke furnishings, delicate textiles, rooms that balance whimsy with genuine refinement — it never tips into costume. It feels lived-in and intentional, more art installation than vacation rental. Five blocks from King Street puts you close enough to Charleston's energy without sitting in the middle of it, which matters. This is a place for people who notice things — the way a room is composed, the quiet of a well-chosen neighborhood — and who want their surroundings to feel as considered as the trip itself.

The space is beautiful and had everything one would need while on vacation. Many great places to eat, grab coffee or doughnuts all within walking distance! Absolutely loved out stay here!

Wonderful stay in a historic Charleston home. We loved the interior cleanliness and decor and how walkable the location was to downtown, restaurants, shops and exploring.

Great stay for a group!

Place was as pictured and charming. Host was super responsive. Can be a little bit of a walk to local highlights, we relied heavily on Uber. But other than that place was great and neighborhood was quite.
