There is a particular pleasure in stepping off a cobblestone corridor lined with flower vendors and fishmongers, passing through a quiet entrance, and finding yourself in a place that feels distinctly apart. Inn at the Market sits just above Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, tucked into the hillside where the city's oldest public market meets the waterfront. It is the only hotel located within the Market itself, a detail that shapes everything about the experience. From the moment you arrive, the energy of the neighborhood is yours to access or retreat from at will.
The hotel's 76 rooms and suites are designed with a residential calm that contrasts with the lively streets below. Many rooms look out over Elliott Bay, where ferries trace their routes across Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains rise along the western horizon. Others face the rooftops and brick facades of the Market district. The interiors are understated and warm, favoring natural light, muted palettes, and comfortable furnishings that feel more like a well-appointed apartment than a conventional hotel. A rooftop deck offers guests a shared outdoor space with sweeping views of the water and the market below, a vantage point that captures the particular geography of Seattle's downtown waterfront.
On the ground level, the hotel connects seamlessly to the rhythm of Pike Place. The courtyard opens directly onto the Market's daily theater of artisan food stalls, craft vendors, and the kind of unhurried browsing that rewards curiosity. Bacco Cafe serves as the hotel's own gathering spot for coffee and light fare, while the property's location places dozens of the city's most notable restaurants, wine bars, and independent shops within a short walk. The Seattle Art Museum, the waterfront piers, and the ferries to Bainbridge Island are all nearby, making the hotel a natural base for exploring the city on foot.
What lingers about Inn at the Market is its sense of proportion. It is small enough to feel personal, positioned well enough to make the city feel effortless, and restrained enough in its design to let Seattle itself be the main attraction. You return to your room after a day spent wandering the Market or walking the waterfront, and the quiet that greets you feels earned. The city is right there, just below, still humming with life. But here, above it all, the pace is entirely your own.

What we love about this stay
What gets you here is the address — tucked right into Pike Place Market, so close you can practically smell the fish being tossed and the coffee roasting before you've even left the building. But what keeps you is the way the inn absorbs that energy without competing with it. The rooms are clean-lined and modern, designed more as a frame than a statement, with wide windows that pull the city in rather than shut it out. It's a place that understands Seattle doesn't need narrating — it needs a good vantage point. The rooftop bar offers exactly that, a quiet perch above the market's theater where the waterfront stretches out and the noise softens to something ambient. This is a hotel for people who want to be inside the city's rhythm, not observing it from a sanitized distance.

We loved our stay at this property. The location was perfect for us, our visit was planned around the Seattle Boat Show and visiting Pike Place Market and other downtown tourist activities. The room was one of the nicest we've experienced, so much so that we almost forgot to enjoy the outdoor deck overlooking Pikes. We will be back!

Loved staying in this nicely appointed hotel for the evening. We planned a walking only 24 hours and Inn at the Market was the perfect spot. We loved taking a glass of wine up to the outdoor patio and enjoying the evening sitting by the firepit. Truly wonderful to stay here.

The Inn at the Market exceeded my expectations with the waterfront views, beautiful rooms, and excellent service by all team members. The room was quiet and very comfortable. My stay was for business, and we met in one of the hotel meeting rooms. The room was comfortable, well appointed, and the service and food was very good. I will return again and highly recommend it!
