What we love about this stay
Request a higher-floor room facing west — the Olympic Mountains at sunset are the kind of view you pour a drink for, not photograph. Friday and Saturday evenings, skip the tourist circuit and settle into the lobby around seven when the live jazz starts and that three-story fireplace shifts the whole mood from daytime energy to something more intimate. Pike Place is a five-minute walk, but go before nine a.m. when the vendors are still setting up and the crowds haven't arrived — that's when you'll actually talk to the fishmongers and find the best stuff. Great location for downtown attractions...don't miss the public library right across the street. Everything you expect from The W with slightly larger rooms and gym. Best hotel bartenders I've experienced in a long time.
